Summarizing
What Is Summarizing?
Summarizing is how we take larger selections of text and reduce them to their bare essentials: the gist, the key ideas, the main points that are worth noting and remembering. Webster's calls a summary the "general idea in brief form"; it's the distillation, condensation, or reduction of a larger work into its primary notions.
What Are We Doing? When We Summarize?
We strip away the extra verbiage and extraneous examples. We focus on the heart of the matter. We try to find the key words and phrases that, when uttered later, still manage to capture the gist of what we've read. We are trying to capture the main ideas and the crucial details
necessary for supporting them.

Playing Sports/ Watching Sports on TV
Playing sports and watching sports on TV are two interesting activities in free time. In our own country, most people love and play sports with friends during weekend. This is the best and easiest way to close and make new friends. Watching sports on TV at home also can be easier to keep family relationships. People often play sports on the court which can keep healthy and be not easy to catch a cold. In contrast, people often sit on sofa and spend a lot of time watching sports on TV. They will be fat easily and not healthy. If people often play sports outside, they can learn more knowledge of sports from other people. People who watch sports channel can also get different kind of information from sports announcers. To sum up, people enjoy playing sports with many friends or enjoy sitting on comfortable sofa are both good choices.

Tokyo Disneyland
1.What tourist destination did you visit?
I have been to Tokyo Disneyland many times.
First time, I went there with my sister when I was 19 years old.
After that, I went there with my friends many times, too.
2. What are the major tourist attractions?
Tokyo Disneyland of Japan really makes your vacation full of lots of exciting but exhausting.
When you are there, you almost forgot how old you are.
You will also be enchanted by its fantasies and adventures.
Many cartoon stars are so charming for me.
Especially, I like Micky and Minnie the best.
There is a big castle which is so amazing at Disneyland.
After watching the parade, everyone moves over to the castle and watches some awesome fireworks.
Each theme park is full of attractions, such as restaurants, rides and shopping. There are lot of things to do.
3. What impact does tourism have on the locals?
Every year, lots of tourists to go on a vacation at Tokyo Disneyland.
I think Tokyo Disneyland can help locals to make a living.
Because tourists like to visit there where people can relax and get rid of pressure.
The locals can also work with their families at Disneyland.
4. What impact does tourism have on the environment?
I think tourism hurts environment so much, such as some pollution.
For example, Tokyo Disneyland is close to Tokyo Bay which is an ocean.
Many tourists bring a lot of trash which pollutes the environment, as a result, it becomes a serious problem.
It is so much fun because tourists like to visit there where people can relax and get rid of pressure.
